WHAT IS REIKI?
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing, which was officially founded in 1922 in Japan by Dr. Midao Usui. We've all experienced being tired or stressed out and then as a result, getting sick as our immune system is diminished by lack of nutrients or sleep, added stress, etc. This is an example of low life force energy causes dis-ease in the body. An attuned and trained practitioner channels positive energy through themselves and into the client, focusing on areas of complaint but also where the practitioner detects blockage. Reiki treats the whole person including the body, emotions, mind, and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security, and well-being. Reiki is a natural and safe method of non-denominational spiritual healing and self-improvement that all can benefit from.
Lina practices Reiki on humans as well as animals. She believes that anyone and everyone can use Reiki due to the society we live in. Often, animals help us out emotionally and energetically with pure unconditional love. Since they experience stress, anxiety, trauma, and disease similar to how humans do; she would like to return the love and soothing positive energy back to them. Reiki on animals creates a safe and peaceful space that is non-invasive, has no side effects, and causes no harm to the animal. No physical contact is required, nor even being in the same room, for the animal to feel the gentle yet powerful effects of Reiki. In fact, animals intuitively respond to Reiki and almost immediately calm down. It is a wonderful and safe accompaniment to any and all other modalities of medicine, whether conventional or alternative.
Lina is at the master level of Reiki and is a member of the International Center for Reiki Training and Shelter Animal Reiki Association.

WHO COULD BENEFIT
Reiki can help anyone and everyone! However, those who can benefit the most are those with feelings of:
Out of balance
People who “in their own head” too much
Needing to de-stress & relax
Needing to reset
It is extremely helpful for empaths, other practitioners, or those who interact with many others on a daily basis. It can also help support those with chronic pain, stress, anxiety, depression, and/or emotional issues. Also it is useful for those looking to change their patterns or strengthen their well-being. Reiki relaxes the body so that its natural defenses can be restored to balance.
Similarly to humans, for animals reiki calms and lowers any stress or anxieties, while supporting those that care for them. Nervous tension in animals can occur from some of the following events:
Addition of a New Pet/Family Member or removal
Newly Adopted Animals
Animals that are sensitive to their human's stressful situations
Before/After Surgery or stressful Vet Visits
Before/During a Kennel Stay
After a Traumatic Event
Stressed or Anxious Animals
End of Life Transitions
WHAT TO EXPECT
In a Reiki session with people, the client will lay face up and fully clothed on a massage table with their eyes closed. The practitioner will place their hands on or above the body (depending on the area and the client's preference) in specific hand positions to increase energy flow to those areas creating healing through the their own body's ability to naturally heal. Clients enter a deep state of relaxation or meditation. Some report vivid visuals or colors and warmth or heat in the areas of the hand placement. They awake calm, refreshed, and balanced with reduced stress and pain; ready to go about their day.
In an animal housecall session, the easiest way to describe it for those that don't know Reiki, would be meditation with animals. A quiet spot in the house where the animal is comfortable would be the best option. Since domesticated animals are not as submissive as we hope them to be, the animal is free to roam or lay down as they wish. No physical contact (or even being in the same room!) is necessary for the Reiki to take effect. The practitioner will sit in silence and meditate with the animal sending positive energy and compassion towards the animal, while using other techniques. The animal’s human is free to join us and watch for subtle changes in the animal’s behavior to the effects. Some signs that the animal is accepting the Reiki:
Deep state of relaxation
Movement (as the energy ebbs and flows)

ANIMAL & PERSON REIKI COMBO
When we are stressed, our animals are stressed. In turn, when we are relaxed, our animals are relaxed. This is a way for both to get on the same wavelength. It is also great for those who aren't sure what Reiki is about, but would like to try an appointment for their animal, so then can experience it for yourself first! We will bring our massage table and do a Reiki housecall for the animal owner, and then for the animal. For more info on pricing, please click on Pricing.
HERBAL CONSULTATIONS & REIKI COMBO
To experience the full scope of healing support, Lina offers a back-to-back herbal consultation and an Reiki energy work session in an 1.5 to 2 hour appointment. The first 30 minutes to an hour consists of an herbal consultation to address any mental, physical, or emotional concerns and support them with herbs or other recommendations. The the second hour is spent using Reiki to reduce stress and clear blocked or stagnant energy using a client preference of a hands-on or hands-off method. The combination of these appointments supports the client fully in mind, body, and spirit and allow the body to begin to unfold and awake its innate ability to heal itself.
